Crush is the ecological range of papers made using process residues from organic products (citrus fruits, corn, olives, coffee, kiwi fruits, cherries, lavender, grapes, hazelnuts and almonds) to replace up to 15% of virgin tree pulp. Crush is certified FSC® and GMO free, contains 40% post-consumer recycled waste and is produced with 100% green energy. The carbon footprint is reduced by 20% using by-products and 100% green energy. Any unavoidable emissions generated during production of this eco-friendly paper are fully offset through Carbon Credits used to finance activities that can absorb CO2 in the atmosphere. Crush and its production process are patented.

Ecological Features: 
Alga Carta was created as a solution to an abnormal proliferation of algae in the Venice Lagoon which damaged the delicate ecosystem that caused eutrophication. Instead of gathering and transporting it to landfills, the most sustainable solution was to upcycle and use it as a raw material for industrial processes. From upcycling, Seaweed Paper is transformed into an FSC certified, recyclable and biodegradable packaging raw material!

Application
Seaweed paper is suitable for a range of packaging including rigid boxes, paper bags and so much more
After extracting sugar juice or biomass ethanol from sugar canes, a huge amount of residual wastes consisting of stalks and leaves are generated. This residue is called “bagasse,” and approximately 1 billion ton (dry weight equivalent) of bagasse is generated for every 1.2 billion tons of sugar cane produced every year. While part of it is burned in boiler and is used as the power source for producing sugar, the rest is discarded. Because this surplus bagasse is basically plant fiber, it can be turned into pulp that can be used as the raw material for manufacturing paper along with wood.
New standards are being set in papermaking process of Colorplan to make a positive contribution back to the environment. All the pulp is sourced from managed forests (for every tree felled, three are planted).
Pulp enters the process at 1% to 99% water, then becomes 93% solid material before the remaining extracted water is returned to the river in pristine condition. Bi-products from the production process are used in agriculture, and the chain of custody ensures that Colorplan is FSC certified. Colorplan strives to reduce the paper’s environmental impact and are at ISO certification level in reducing energy consumption and waste generation without any compromise on quality.

Both substances 90 gsm and 100 gsm in size 45×64 are produced in “Litholaser” version, therefore suitable for offset pre-printing and subsequent printing on toner-based laser printers.
