One Seed is more than a brand; it’s a pioneer in natural perfumery, utilising pure botanical ingredients with a remarkable at least 80% organic content. When they launched in 2009, they stood as the sole natural perfume brand in Australia and one of only a handful worldwide. Their desire was clear: to amplify their brand’s influence and voice through custom packaging.
Collaborating closely, we embarked on the journey to create 9ml and 30ml boxes that would embrace and enhance the beauty of One Seed’s exquisite perfumes. Our task was multifaceted. We needed to navigate the complexities of crafting sustainable packaging for cosmetics and perfumes, a realm often dominated by plastic or foam inserts. Moreover, we faced the challenge of debossing 13 distinct patterned spots onto each box, demanding precision and innovation.

To meet these challenges head-on, we meticulously selected high-quality recycled paper and boards, boasting an impressive composition of 55% pure certified FSC® fibers, 40% recycled fibers, and 5% cotton fibers. In a bold step towards sustainability, we bid farewell to foam and plastic, embracing paper inserts for a recyclable, eco-friendly solution.Â

We didn’t stop at functionality; we focused on design and user experience. The custom printed boxes were designed with a convenient slide-open mechanism, ensuring effortless access to the exquisite perfumes within. We worked closely with the designers from scratch to make sure a smooth delivery of the design concept.

One Seed’s commitment to natural cosmetics, ingredient transparency, and minimalism was reflected in the simple yet impactful aesthetic of the boxes. Debossing was our chosen technique, adding a touch of elegance that resonated with the inner beauty of their products. The result? An elegant representation of the Australian landscape, captured from an aerial view, connecting deeply with the brand’s ethos.
